Invest in energy-saving products to save money

Investing in energy-saving products in offices and industrial units and putting in place power conservation measures can not only help to reduce carbon emissions, but save money.

This has been stated by a buildings products expert, who has said that adopting simple habits such as switching off lights and appliances that are not in use can result in a lot of savings.

According to Graham Baylis of Cox Building Products, "buying energy-efficient appliances will save a great deal of electricity and switching from standard light bulbs to energy efficient bulbs will also help to reduce your carbon footprint".

Energy-saving products that feature technology that automatically turns out lights if no one is in the room or real-time advance metering can help businesses assess their electricity consumption.

The Eniscope, Enigin Plc's real-time energy-saving monitoring system, and their light energy saver system (LESS) use the latest technology to enable businesses to monitor and then save energy and money and reduce their carbon footprint.

The European Commission recently published new eco-design regulations that are meant to ensure only the most efficient products remain on the market.
