Greener-living business opportunities enjoy good support in BC

Greener living business opportunities and energy-saving projects benefit from a good investment climate in the Canadian province of British Columbia (BC), according to a new report.

Consulting firm PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) has revealed that of all the provinces in the country, BC has the biggest amount of incentives for promoting green initiatives and businesses, reports the Vancouver Sun.

Research by PwC has found that BC has 38 incentives for supporting green living and these include tax breaks on research and energy-saving measures that could help businesses save money.

According to Ian Heine, a partner in PwC's CleanTech practice, the research was conducted by the firm because businesses in the country were increasingly interested in green incentives and how they could benefit.

Ian Bruce, a climate change specialist for the David Suzuki Foundation, is quoted by the publication as saying that information on how to access such incentives or whether they exist at all is one of the biggest challenges facing businesses.

Earlier in the month PwC stated that it is just a matter of time before going green becomes compulsory in Canada.
