Enigin Updates - Cagayan Valley Focus of Energy Conservation
THE Philippine government will be focusing efforts on conducting an energy conservation program in Cagayan Valley, a region in the north east of the country.
Philippine Information Agency (PIA) staff director for special projects Emelyn Libunao, said the Philippine’s Department of Energy (DoE), in coordination with local government, power cooperatives and other organisations are embarking on a vast energy-efficiency information campaign, particularly with regard to energy saving lighting.
"We are focusing our efforts in Luzon and Visayas after completing our tasks in Mindanao,"she said.
The energy conservation program involves in part distribution of and/or switching from incandescent bulbs to CFLs by power consumers in regional areas, including a public lighting retrofit program which targets lighting of parks and selected city roads.
The use of CFLs is carried out through the Philippine Energy Efficiency Project (PEEP) and is based on a study undertaken by the Asian Development Bank, which revealed that many energy customers in the Philippines still use incandescent bulbs.
Lighting management for businesses and organisations also provides impressive energy saving results, leading to significant financial savings as well.
Enigin Distributors in the Philippines, and globally, have Enigin's LESS range of lighting products to help organisations to start saving energy and money
