Enigin Update - UK's Environment Agency save £6 M a Year Through Sustainability
THE UK’s Environment Agency (EA) have made energy savings since 2006 adding to £6 million a year in cost savings from sustainability.
The report shows that within five years, the Agency have reduced building energy use by 15 per cent and carbon emissions by 17 per cent, and they are on track to achieve a 33 percent reduction by 2015.
These results are an ideal example of the level of savings, in energy and costs, available to other businesses and organisations if they save energy, particularly in view of the UKs Carbon Reduction Commitment scheme.
"Energy and waste all contribute and need to be managed, measured and reduced. Those that do so effectively will reduce costs and improve their reputation," said Dr Paul Leinster, EA chief executive.
