Enigin Update - UK Master Builders Look to Energy Efficiency for Jobs Boost

THE UK’s Federation of Master Builders (FMB) have stated that energy efficiency improvements in buildings, particularly retrofits, will provide a jobs boost to the UK’s construction sector.

This is the reckoning of Brian Berry, the director of external affairs at the FMB.

"The new (UK) government is committed to actually encouraging a green [agenda] and making our existing homes more energy efficient," said Berry.

He further commented: "I think we have already seen an upturn there in more entrepreneurial construction companies taking advantage of that. In terms of the retrofitting market and energy efficiency, that is where the job creation will be in the next few years."

Berry’s comments come after the latest Market/CPS Purchasing Managers' Index revealing that the UK construction industry has grew in April for the third consecutive month.

Results from the FMB's own survey highlight that the sector has hard work ahead coming out of recession.

Enigin Distributors are armed with a full range of energy efficiency products, from Enigin, to help constructors and building owners to retrofit older buildings and equip new builds to high energy saving standards.
