Enigin Update - Philippines Combating Outages and Price Hikes
A TWO-DAY National Training-Workshop on Energy Efficiency and Conservation is being held in the Dumaguete City, Philippines to combat the almost daily blackouts and oil price hikes.
The Philippines’ Department of Energy (DOE) and Development Academy of the Philippines (DAP) have arranged the workshop, with DAP Managing Director Regina Fernandez stating that there is a need to further strengthen efforts towards energy efficiency and conservation as commercial, industrial and transport sectors continue to burn fossil fuel which adds to the problem of climate change.
Fernandez said as part of the advocacy campaign, this workshop, which is being rolled out across the country, aims to introduce the concept of energy management and measures on energy efficiency and conservation.
The two-day workshop expects to gather at least 50 city-based companies to participate in the training on how to conduct energy audits, efficient air conditioning and lighting systems and on fuel and motor efficiency.
Enigin Distributors across the Philippines are aiding many companies to gain control of their energy use through installing energy efficiency technology from Enigin, leading to lower energy demand and costs.
Dumaguete City is one of 15 areas across the Philippines that is being used as venue for a series of these training-workshops.
