Enigin Update - Moldova Launches Energy Efficiency Campaign
THE Moldovan Economics Ministry and the Agency for Energy Efficiency has launched the energy efficiency campaign Moldova ECO-Energy.
Moldova ECO-Energy is a comprehensive campaign, whose goal is to promote energy efficiency and alternative energy sources. Moldovan government in partnership with The European Union the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) Moldova are conducting the campaign.
Marian Lupu, acting President and Parliamentary Speaker said at the launch: "Energy efficiency, energy preservation, use of renewable energy resources are serious problems and an absolute priority especially for Moldova, which imports about 70 per cent of the electric energy it needs, and 100 per cent of natural gas and other fuel."
Lupu added that Moldova needs to ensure its energy security and efficiency as energy resources are getting increasingly expensive, which is and will impact on the country’s economy.
Ambassador Dirk Shuebel, The head of the EU Delegation in Moldova, said that the European Union and other donors are ready to back Moldova financially and technically in order to enhance its energy efficiency.
Enigin Distributors in the region will further promote energy efficiency by supplying energy efficiency solutions from Enigin, this save businesses and organisations energy, money and greenhouse gas emissions.
