Enigin Update - Indian SMEs Encouraged to Become Energy Efficient
THE Indian governmental Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE), with the support of the Ministry of Power, has started putting into action its national energy efficiency program.
There have been 35 small and medium enterprise (SME) groups selected and BEE aims at encouraging SMEs to implement energy efficient technologies and practices through the sharing of knowledge, capacity building and new financial mechanisms.
The BEE have also organised an information event relating to the new energy efficiency program at the Bombay Blue Hall, Surat, India, with the presence of Minister of State for Power, Bharatsinh Solanki.
The double-aim of this BEE project is to benefit the domestic industry by encouraging and helping organisations and companies to reduce their energy bills and improve their goods quality, thereby enabling them be more competent in the Indian and global markets, informed Solanki.
