Enigin Update - India Cautious of G20 Energy Roadmap

THE Indian government has reacted with caution to the potential of the G20 dictating the country’s energy roadmap and what technologies to adopt.

The suggestion comes from the G20's sub-group on Clean Energy and Energy Efficiency, which will present a roadmap on how to turn India’s energy sector green and environmentally aware.

The roadmap, due to be revealed in September, will force India to accept the plans into its own power policies, forcing them to invest in energy efficiency and clean technologies.

The G20 grouping has been actively pursuing issues of climate change and energy security since its formation.

India feels wary of the G20 moves as the developed countries hold the control, and dictate the terms on he convention on climate change and energy policy.

India and other developing countries prefer the UN climate convention, as the decisions are taken by consensus.

Enigin Distributors in India are helping the country improve it energy efficiency and green credentials by supplying Enigin Plc’s technology to the private and public sectors.
