Enigin Update - FM Expo Highlights Energy Efficiency for UAE
THE Property and Facilities Management Conference is being held this week as part of the Facilities Management Expo at the World Trade Centre in Dubai.
Due to the ever rising electricity costs and high levels of energy consumption practical ways of energy saving and related topics will be the focus of this year’s Facilities Management Expo.
The FM Expo will bring together experts in the energy saving industry to discuss current energy saving industry trends and initiatives.
The exhibition will highlight energy efficiency for companies operating across the property and facilities management sector while displaying some of the latest developments in environmental and energy management
The FM Expo is needed in the region as recent statistics show Abu Dhabi is one of the cities with the highest level of electricity usage, per capita, worldwide.
By way of comparison, in the U.S. the yearly average energy consumption is 11.4 kW (Kilowatt) per person, compared to 6 kW in Japan and in Germany, but in Abu Dhabi a typical resident consumes on average 41 kW of electricity per year.
Accordingly, this year’s FM Expo will treat sustainability in properties through facility management as a major issue – with the exhibition itself designed to be carbon neutral.
'Since at present energy consumption is measured on an area base, it is more difficult for consumers to control their costs. This measurement system can therefore be blamed for an excessive energy waste,' stated Hans Altman of Techem, one of the lecturers at the conference.
Enigin's Distributors across the UAE will be able to equip Facility Management companies with the solutions to help them manage energy use in real time and provide load-side products to intelligently control equipment and lighting.
