Enigin Update - Filipino Companies to Benefit from Energy Efficiency

40 FILIPINO companies in the Davao City region have made a commitment to practice energy efficiency and energy management systems after attending a national workshop on energy efficiency.

Jesus C. Anunciacion, the assistant director for Philippines Energy Efficiency and Conservation Division, said that the companies who made the commitment during the workshop could save at least P20 million (US$460,000) annually in reduced energy costs between them.

Anunciacion said: "We are targeting to train and encourage at least 600 private companies this semester to join us in our efforts in promoting the habit of energy conservation in the workplace.”
The workshop in Davao City is the pilot for a series of similar workshops scheduled in different cities and provinces across the country over the next six months.

The workshop, part handled by the Development Academy of the Philippines, aims to introduce energy management and energy efficiency and conservation.

The Philippines’ Department Of Energy have previously run similar programmes targeting government agencies, encouraging them to practice and adopt energy saving measures. Now this expansion in to the private sector is seen as vital by the Filipino government to tackle climate change and help industry keep it’s competitive edge.

Across the Philippines Enigin Distributors have been helping many companies and governmental agencies to become evermore energy efficient by providing them energy saving and management solutions from Enigin - leading to reduced energy demand and costs and a lowering of greenhouse gas emissions.
