Enigin Update - Energy Saving Verification Vital

IN BATON ROUGE, Louisiana, the state legislative auditor has found that two state hospitals have energy efficiency contracts that fail to comply with state law due to a lack of verification.

The local Advocate newspaper has reported that the auditor found that savings realised from “energy efficiency” contracts were not measurable or verifiable at the University Medical Center in Lafayette and Lallie Kemp Regional Medical Center in Independence.

The “energy efficiency” results, instead, were agreed to by the private contractor and hospital officials. Stipulating to results in contracts is forbidden by state law.

In a letter responding to the audit findings Louisiana State University System (LSU) Chief Financial Officer Wendy Simoneaux wrote that LSU is conducting detailed investigations and is turning to energy efficiency industry experts to review the complex technical contract.

Using advanced technology to not only monitor energy use, savings and subsequent environmental impact but to also provide firm data to prove and display what is being saved and where to act is becoming an imperative for the public and private sectors.

Enigin Distributors, globally, have exclusive access to Enigin Plc's Eniscope Real-time and Analytics energy monitoring and management system.

Eniscope provides clear, easy to understand real-time energy use data across a network in stunning graphics, it also supplies energy data historically allowing analysis of what is happening and what is being saved - providing verification of energy efficiencies for decision makers and auditors alike.
