Enigin Update - Energy Saving Standards to be set in Azerbaijan
IN AZERBAIJAN specialists from the State Committee for Standardisation, Metrology and Patent have prepared a draft national programme on energy saving.
According to Sabig Abdullayev, the Chief of Department for Standardisation and Technical Regulation, the proposed programme will apply 75 standards of energy efficiency, leading to a target of 30 percent in energy saving.
Abdullayev noted that in 2010 the State Committee approved 162 energy efficiency standards, well above last years figure of just 60.
The state committee, in cooperation with the Ministry of Industry and Energy, also intends to create a technical committee focussing on oil products, the source of much of the country’s energy.
Abdullayev explained: “By creating this committee, we want to achieve application of international and regional standards in this sphere.”
Enigin Distributors in the region can help governments along with the business and industrial sectors to start saving energy through using energy efficiency technology from Enigin - reducing greenhouse gas emissions and energy costs.
