Enigin Update - Energy Saving Must be Main Focus for Ukraine
UKRAINE should make improving energy efficiency a national priority, Deputy Prime Minister and Social Policy Minister Sergiy Tigipko has said.
"Euro 2012 has shown that we can allocate rather significant resources in the country if we want this," Tigipko said in an interview with Interfax- Ukraine, "energy saving is now one of the most pressing problems for us."
He added that studies show that consumers pay less after the installment of meters which allow close monitoring of electricity use, these meters allow changes in energy demand to be made.
Tigipko revealed that without adopting a comprehensive metering programme, utility prices will rise by at least 32 percent.
Enigin Distributors in Ukraine supply Enigin plc's Eniscope Real-time energy monitoring system - which gives control of energy use to decision makers leading to substantial savings from reduced energy costs.
