Enigin Update - Energy Efficiency Study for Southeast Asia
ENERGY efficiency has been described as the ‘low-hanging fruit’ and a new study in Southeast Asia will highlight the fact.
The benchmarking study on energy efficiency investments among countries in the Southeast Asian region is to start in the Philippines this Month.
Collaboration between the British Embassy in the Philippines and the Filipino Makati City government is providing a forum on “Addressing Climate Change through Energy Efficiency Investments” which will be part of the launch of the study.
A press release from the Embassy noted that the “Market Feasibility Report on Energy Efficiency in Southeast Asia: Investment Opportunities,” will tackle how energy efficiency “opens doors to new investment opportunities in six South East Asian countries.”
The study coverage will be Singapore, Vietnam, Indonesia, Thailand, Malaysia and the Philippines.
It was also confirmed that the study will be the launched first in the Philippines. Details of the undertaking will be presented by clean energy advisors ReEx Capital Asia managing director Frédéric Crampé along with the British Embassy’s Economic Attaché Mark Canlas.
Discussions on environmental awareness initiatives, anchored on the theme “Building Sustainability-Energy Efficient Design” is also in the agenda.
Enigin Distributors in the six countries covered by the study are helping many businesses and organisations to become energy efficient, helping business owners and managers to realise the financial benefits of being able to control their energy use.
