Enigin Update - Combating Ever Rising Energy Bills

BUSINESSES are being encouraged to consider an environmental analysis of their energy use and their energy efficiency to combat ever rising energy bills.

More and more companies are analysing their energy efficiency in the face of the "soaring" expense of energy and fossil fuels, says Richard Critchley, policy manager for transport, environment and planning at the Greater Manchester Chamber of Commerce in the UK.

Critchley added that businesses are not the same as residential consumers, arguing that companies have to be "fully aware of their energy use and to carefully monitor bills and meter readings".

Enigin Plc's Eniscope Real-time and Analytics is the ideal solutions for businesses to not only monitor and manage their energy use, but also gain control of their costs and consumption. Eniscope also provides graphical, easy to understand energy use data in real-time and is available globally from Enigin Distributors.

Critchley also said that the Office of the Gas and Electricity Markets (Ofgem), which regulates the electricity and gas markets in Great Britain, needs to promote further competition across the energy sector, leading to lower costs while providing support to companies.

Critchley’s comments were made after the Confederation of British Industry called on the UK government to review its Carbon Reduction Commitment Scheme, claiming that changes to environmental legislation "adds to the cost of doing business" for many firms and corporations.
