Enigin Update - China to Fund Energy Management
THE central Chinese government is to allocate around $300 million this year towards energy conservation reconstruction through energy management in the fields of industry, construction and transportation, and for public institutions, so reported the Ministry of Finance.
Businesses and organisations will be able to apply for government subsidies if the energy conservation and modification projects they undertake can each save between 500 to 10,000 tons of standard coal per year.
The lower subsidy threshold for the other energy efficiency projects will be lowered with aim to save more than or equal to 100 tons of standard coal per year.
These subsidies will be covered by the Chinese central government and by provincial governments, with the award standard of the central government and provincial governments at $35 Yuan and no less than $9 per ton of standard coal, respectively.
