Enigin Update - Business, Government and Utility Unite in South Africa over Energy Savings

THE NORTH West African Chamber of Commerce (NWACC) in South Africa is supporting Eskom’s 49M energy saving initiative as the country faces an energy supply crisis.

The initiatives moniker, 49M, refers to the population of South Africa, and is approved by the South African government and business partners, with the aim of promoting the need for the population to accept and apply energy saving and energy efficiency.

Lefty Mogorosi, NWACC president, and Brian Dames, Eskom CEO, signed an agreement pledging allegiance to the initiative.

Eskom, the state power utility, have been calling for improved energy efficiency from all sectors, particularly commerce and industry, as it tries to deal with the constant threats of power black outs due to a shortfall in generating power.

Hence the need for Enigin plc's energy efficiency technology and solutions across the cape, to enable businesses to reduce energy demand, costs and waste. Enigin Distributors are already helping commerce, industry and the public sector to monitor and manage their energy use.
