Enigin - EU Agree To Aim For 30% CO2 Cut By End Of 2010

A climate change policy officer, at the European Commission last week, has announced that the European Union will hopefully be able to succeed in its commitment to reach a 30% reduction of carbon emissions (presently sitting at 20%) by the next U.N. climate conference in Mexico at the end of the year.

Connie Hedegaard, Denmark's Climate and Energy Minister, told the European Parliament: "I very much hope that by Mexico, of course, we could go up to 30%".

The most cost-effective way of achieving carbon emissions reduction is to switch to energy efficiency. Businesses worldwide account for a third of total emissions, and drastically reducing that output would entail massive benefits for the environment, as well as monetary profit for business owners through the reduction of their energy bills.

Energy efficiency companies, such as Enigin PLC, give business owners the opportunity to increase their profit margins by slashing their energy costs. Enigin distributors provide the latest technology available in the energy efficiency industry, for all the most energy consuming needs.

Enigin suppliers can also give business owners a powerful tool to fight excess energy consumption and related costs - the Eniscope.

The Eniscope is an advanced smart monitor able to measure energy consumption and identify where energy is going to waste, through inefficient equipment. Enigin PLC's Eniscope then presents the energy usage data it gathered in the form of easy-to-read, full colored salient graphs, in any chosen language. This information can be accessed anywhere in the world, from any laptop, PC or iPhone, in real-time.

With Enigin PLC's Eniscope, business owners have a full-time, virtual energy manager working for them, 24/7.

As well as offering the best quality in their wide range of energy saving products, Enigin distributors deliver excellent customer service for which they are solicited all over the world.

In regards to the EU's intention to notch up their CO2 reduction target, Mrs. Hedegaard claimed that she would be a strong advocate of that target increase, and that the EU should use this commitment to "squeeze" more ambitious targets from other countries.

In December 2008, the EU agreed to reduce CO2 emissions by 20% by 2020, from 1990 levels, and was still prepared to raise their cut to 30% during last month's climate summit, provided other countries committed to similar efforts in fighting climate change.

However, Europe considered the outcome of the U.N.-sponsored climate negotiations in Copenhagen as 'disappointing' and not ambitious enough to prompt that increase.

In order to reach the 30% CO2 reduction, the EU will need to take action in order to tackle the industry sector, alone responsible for a third of total emissions.

Implementing Enigin PLC's energy saving systems can induce a considerable decrease in carbon emissions, as well as generally save businesses money on energy bills. To achieve this result, policies would need to evolve, making energy efficiency a mandatory requirement for all public buildings and businesses.
